UPN Channel Dimensions Chart (UPN 80 to UPN 400)
UPN channel chart from UPN 80 to UPN 400: h, b, tw, tf, r1, r2, e, area, weight in kg/m, moment of inertia, section modulus and radius of gyration. Labelled drawing.
For preliminary selection and comparison. Strength, buckling, lateral torsional buckling, connections and rolling tolerances are not checked. Confirm dimensions with the standard or the manufacturer, and have the final design done by a qualified engineer.

Conditions and notes
UPN 80 to UPN 400, EN 10365:2017 nominal dimensions. Area and mass from the ideal tapered flange section, steel density 7850 kg/m³. Section properties are values shared by two publishers. Rolling tolerances are not applied.
- y is the strong axis, parallel to the flanges. z is the weak axis, parallel to the web. The section is not symmetric about z, Wel,z is the smaller value.
- The geometric area and the area in manufacturer tables can differ by up to 0.3%. The tables follow the older DIN 1026 calculation and a rounded area.
- Empty cells are values that two publishers did not give identically, that only one publisher lists, or where the published value conflicts with the exact geometry and an independent DIN 1026-1 table. For this reason r2 is empty for UPN 100, UPN 120 and UPN 380, Wpl,y and e for UPN 380, iy for UPN 320, Wpl,y and Wpl,z for UPN 80, and Wpl,y for UPN 350.
- r1 and r2 are the integer values in two manufacturer tables that give EN 10365 dimensions. DIN 1026-1 tables use r1 = tf and r2 = tf/2, which differs by 0.5 mm in some rows. Area and mass use the radii in the table, the area difference with DIN radii is below 0.06 cm². For UPN 100, UPN 120 and UPN 380 the EN 10365 r2 used for the area comes from one manufacturer, its effect is below 0.03 cm².
- For UPN 320 the iy value in the tables does not satisfy √(I / A) with Iy and A, so it is not shown. iy and iz are given at the finest precision that is consistent with I and A.
- The torsion constant It, the warping constant Iw and the shear centre position are not included.
- CSV download is unavailable because the sources do not establish permission for reuse.
Dimensions are EN 10365 nominal dimensions. Area and theoretical mass are calculated from these dimensions with an exact relation that includes the tapered flanges and the root and toe radii.
UPN second moments of area, section moduli, radii of gyration and the centroid distance are given as published in manufacturer tables. A value is shown only when two separate publishers give the same number at their common precision, and it keeps the number of digits they print.
